Collingwood Basketball Association Incorporated, known more familiarly as the Collingwood All Stars, comprises basketball programs across Big V youth and seniors, VJBL (representative), junior domestic (within the EDJBA), senior domestic and our award-winning Aussie Hoops program. Collingwood has approximately 1,700 participants across these programs.
Collingwood is proud to support our local, diverse community – helping participants to play sport who otherwise may not get the opportunity.
Reporting to the committee, the General Manager is responsible for implementing the association’s vision and strategy and will provide overall leadership and strategic direction for all areas of the organisation. Working at the domestic, representative and semi-professional level of the sport, the role is focussed on:
- Leadership of all day-to-day operations
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders across sponsorship, program delivery and other related services.
- Strong financial leadership (including both profit & loss and balance sheet) within a closely monitored annual budget
- Communication with parents, players, coaches and other stakeholders via social media, web site and email
The General Manager should possess excellent communication skills and leadership qualities to successfully manage, support and mentor a small highly committed team of paid staff and volunteers. The role will work closely with the committee across governance, risk, financial reporting and strategy development & implementation.
To be considered for this position, you will be an experienced operations leader who is well versed in managing member and stakeholder relationships.
We are looking for a candidate to bring strategic, financial and commercial acumen to best service the association and its members. A background in basketball is not essential, however experience within sport or a related service industry would be looked upon favourably.
