BIG V is Victoria’s senior representative basketball competition, bringing together associations from across metropolitan and regional Victoria. The competition provides a high-level, semi-professional environment for senior and emerging athletes, coaches and officials, while creating an important pathway for players progressing from junior representative basketball into the senior game.
The competition is structured across multiple divisions for both men and women, with senior divisions ranging from Championship through Division 1, Division 2 and beyond. BIG V also features Youth League competitions designed to support the transition from junior basketball into senior competition.
Collingwood All-Stars | BIG V
Collingwood Basketball Association competes in BIG V under the Collingwood All Stars program. Our BIG V program is designed to provide a clear pathway for talented players, from youth basketball through to senior competition, while representing Collingwood at the highest possible level. In 2026, Collingwood fields four BIG V teams:
Senior Women – Division 1 Senior Men – Division 2 Youth League Women – Division 2 Youth League Men – Division 3
This structure allows Collingwood to provide opportunities across both senior and youth basketball, with our Youth League teams serving as an important development pathway for emerging players preparing for senior basketball.
All-Stars | The Beginning to Now
The All Stars’ journey in the league began in 2015, when the club entered a Senior Men’s team in Division 2. What started as a single senior team would quickly grow into a much broader representative program, establishing the foundations for a pathway that would connect our junior players through to senior basketball.
In 2017, the program took its next major step, with the introduction of both a Senior Women’s team and a Youth Men’s team. The growth continued in 2019 with the addition of a Youth Women’s team, giving the All Stars a complete pathway across both boys’ and girls’ basketball from youth through to senior level.
Success followed quickly. In 2017, the Senior Men’s team captured the Division 2 championship, earning promotion to Division 1 for the 2018 season. They established themselves as a competitive Division 1 program and remained there through to 2023, marking an impressive six-season run at the higher level.
The Youth Men’s program also made its mark, winning the Youth Division 2 championship in 2019. Their success earned promotion to Division 1 ahead of the 2020 season and demonstrated the strength of the developing junior-to-senior pathway within the All Stars program.
From a single Senior Men’s team in 2015 to a club competing across senior and youth basketball for both men and women, the All Stars’ early years in the league were defined by growth, opportunity and success.
