Collingwood Basketball Association (CBA) welcomes all feedback from our members and local community. We are committed to continuously improving our competitions, programs and Association and the best way for us to do this is through the feedback from our members. We want to hear what we are doing well and where we can improve.

Collingwood Basketball Association is proud of our diverse community and has zero tolerance for discriminatory behaviour.

CBA wants everyone to enjoy their basketball by providing a safe and supportive competitions and programs. We believe that:
  • People have the right to have their feedback carefully considered through processes that are based on timeliness, fairness and respect.
  • A person making a complaint should not be victimised or disadvantaged in any way.
  • The best resolution is one that is reached cooperatively and informally where possible.
  • Feedback will be taken seriously and treated confidentially by all parties involved.
  • Feedback will be confidentially stored, recorded and monitored to continuously improve CBA.
  • It is difficult to resolve anonymous complaints.
Our general recommendations to resolving feedback include:
  • Where appropriate, raise it directly with the person involved in a respectful, kind and constructive manner asking questions and seeking the other person’s perspective
  • Provide clear examples and think about what outcome you would like to see
  • Assume good intentions – remember many of us are volunteers and trying our best to do the right thing
  • Acknowledge the role you may have played and validate the other person/s experiences
  • All feedback regarding a coach or referee needs to be shared with the Team Manager who is to refer feedback to CBA Operations Staff for assessment and action. Feedback should not be provided to coaches during or directly before or after a game.
  • If you are unsure, speak with CBA Operations Staff or the Feedback Sub-Committee for advice on how to proceed.
