About us

COLLINGWOOD BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION
ABN 75 766 486 357
The Collingwood Basketball Association serves one of Victoria’s most diverse and vibrant basketball communities. Based in the City of Yarra and co‑located within a local secondary school, we reflect the rich mix of backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences that define our community. This includes participants from migrant and refugee backgrounds, First Nations communities, and the LGBTQ+ community, as well as families living in public housing and those experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage.
Operateing at the centre of Melbourne’s inner North. Our reach extends across Collingwood and surrounding suburbs, connecting diverse communities through accessible and inclusive basketball programs.
This diversity is a strength. It shapes how we design programs, support volunteers, partner with community organisations, and define success. Inclusion at the Collingwood Basketball Association is not an add on. It is core business and a practical driver of participation, trust, and long-term sustainability.

For juniors, we offer opportunities to learn and develop basketball skills in beginner programs, to play in competition on Saturdays as part of the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association, and for those who wish to further challenge themselves to play at representative level on Friday nights. We also offer holiday programs during the Easter, July and September school holidays, and we provide specialist coaching programs and clinics.
For those aged over 18, Collingwood All Stars has multiple teams in Victoria’s elite Big V competition. We also operate a graded senior domestic social competition on Sunday and Monday evenings.

The Collingwood Basketball Association acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which we live, work and play, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We recognise their enduring connection to land, waters and community, and their ongoing contribution to sport and to the communities we serve.

In line with the commitments of Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria, we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples at every level of our game.
