COLLINGWOOD ALL-STARS
Join the Collingwood Representative Program Tryouts Open Now!
If you are looking for an opportunity to challenge yourself, develop your basketball and be part of a committed team environment, we encourage you to register for the 2026/2027 Collingwood Basketball Association VJBL Representative Trials. We look forward to welcoming returning Representative players, emerging players from our Junior Domestic and development programs, and new players from across the basketball community to the court as we build another strong Representative Program for the 2026/2027 VJBL season.
Who are Tryouts Open to?
Current Collingwood Representative players looking to continue in the Representative Program.
Collingwood Junior Domestic players currently playing in EDJBA who are looking to take the next step into Representative basketball.
Players participating in Collingwood Basketball programs who have not previously played Representative basketball and are interested in developing their skills at a higher level.
Players from outside the Collingwood Basketball Association who are looking to join our Representative Program. Players from another Association must have a valid Permission to Trial (PTT) from their current Association prior to participating in trials.
selection
You do not need previous Representative experience to trial. Our program caters for players across a range of abilities and experience levels, and we encourage players who are ready for a new challenge to put themselves forward.
However, participation in trials does not guarantee selection to a Representative team. Not all players who attend trials will be selected. Player selection will be determined by the coaching and selection panel based on a range of factors.
Current Representative players are also required to trial and are not automatically guaranteed selection or placement for the 2026/2027 season.
Collingwood Representative Program principles
Strive for Excellence
We provide players with the opportunity to compete at the highest level appropriate to their ability, experience and development, while encouraging every player to continually improve.
Personal Best
Every player is expected to work towards achieving their personal best. Development is measured not only through game results, but also through individual improvement, effort, attitude and commitment.
Team Commitment
Representative basketball is a year-long commitment. Players are expected to commit to their team, attend scheduled training and games, and contribute positively to the team environment.
Fair & Appropriate Court Time
Coaches aim to provide fair and reasonable court time based on a player’s commitment, ability, development and the requirements of the game. Court time is not necessarily equal.
Squad-Based Development
Where appropriate, teams may participate in squad-based training environments. This allows players to train with other teams within their age group and provides additional opportunities for development, competition and learning.
Respect & Communication
Honesty, respect and appropriate communication are expected between players, coaches, team staff and parents. Everyone involved in the program has a responsibility to contribute to a positive and supportive basketball environment.
