Head of Girls Basketball

Collingwood Basketball Association is very excited to announce the appointment of Bella Doherty as Head of Girls Basketball Program. Bella is well known to many at Collingwood, having been part of the club since she joined as a domestic Under 10s player. Spending the majority of her juniors at Melbourne Tigers, Bella came back to Collingwood as it was one of the few clubs that year (2018) to offer a girls Under 20s team. Bella is an All Stars through and through and is currently a player in the Big V Women’s team and coach of the 14.1 girls VJBL team. Bella also works in the Aussie Hoops and School Camp Programs including the first Girls Camp (2023), coaching our next generation of All Stars.

Bella is close to completing her double degree in Psychological Science and Exercise and Sports Science and has many years’ experience in playing, coaching and developing female basketballers at Collingwood.  She also spent time playing for Lady Vipers Junior Varsity team in Austin, Texas as part of an exchange program.  Bella is looking forward to working with the club and committee to continue to develop the girls basketball program by attracting, retaining and developing our female basketballers.  A strong girl’s and women’s program is a sign of a strong community sports organisation.

Please join us in welcoming Bella to her new role as Head of Girls Basketball Program.
