Collingwood Basketball Association is celebrating a major milestone in 2026, marking 50 years of basketball, community and connection.
CBA will formally celebrate its 50th Anniversary on Sunday 13 September, bringing together current and former players, coaches, officials, volunteers, families and supporters for a day that recognises the people and moments that have shaped the Association.
The celebration will be held at Collingwood College, home to CBA and a central part of the Association’s history.
The anniversary program will run from 12.00 pm and feature basketball, history and activities for the whole CBA community. The program includes Junior All Star Games, a formal 50th Anniversary Ceremony, a three point competition and the CBA Legends All Star Game.
Historical displays will also tell the story of Collingwood Basketball across five decades, alongside a BBQ and other activities throughout the afternoon.
Celebrating 50 years of Collingwood Basketball
Since its beginnings in 1976, Collingwood Basketball has grown into a significant community basketball organisation, providing opportunities for generations of people to play, coach, referee, volunteer and contribute to the game.
The 50th Anniversary is an opportunity to recognise that history while bringing together the different generations and communities that have been part of CBA.
Whether you played at Collingwood decades ago, currently wear the All Stars uniform, coached or volunteered along the way, supported a family member from the sidelines, or have recently joined the Association, you are part of the story.
The event will also provide an opportunity to reconnect with former teammates, coaches and friends and celebrate the shared connection that basketball has created across the CBA community.
Everyone is invited
CBA invites the entire basketball community to join the celebration on Sunday 13 September.
Former players, coaches, officials and volunteers are particularly encouraged to come back to Collingwood, reconnect with old friends and share their memories of the Association.
Current CBA members and families are encouraged to come along, bring family and friends and help recognise the people who built the Association over its first 50 years.
