Collingwood Basketball Association is partnering with Prime Athletes to deliver an Athlete Development Workshop on Friday 6 November 2026, open to all VJBL and EDJBA players, coaches and parents.
Led by Cam Rigby, Head Coach and Director of Prime Athletes, the workshop will focus on developing the physical skills that support basketball performance, with practical activities, coaching advice and opportunities to ask questions.
What will the workshop cover?
- Speed and agility: Acceleration, deceleration, lateral movement and change of direction.
- Movement mechanics: Improving movement efficiency and on-court performance.
- Strength fundamentals: Understanding how strength training supports athletic development and reduces injury risk.
- Preparation and recovery: Warm-up routines, mobility, stretching and recovery techniques.
- Coaching development: Practical drills and training ideas that coaches can introduce into their sessions.
- Questions and answers: Opportunities for players, coaches and parents to learn directly from Cam.
Players will participate in practical on-court activities, while coaches and parents can observe, ask questions and gain a better understanding of how to support young athletes.
