Collingwood Basketball Association is pleased to welcome Guzman y Gomez as the Official Representative Program Partner of the Collingwood All Stars Junior Representative Program from 2027.
The three year partnership will see GYG support CBA’s junior representative players and teams competing in the Victorian Junior Basketball League through to the end of 2029.
CBA General Manager Shaun McEachin said the partnership comes at an important time for the continued development of the representative program.
“We have a clear focus on strengthening our basketball pathways and improving the experience we provide our players and families. Bringing partners such as GYG into the program helps us keep progressing that work.”
GYG will become a prominent part of the All Stars program, including branding on junior representative playing singlets and at home games. The partnership also provides opportunities for player and team rewards, member offers, game day activations and community initiatives.
“We’re excited to be partnering with Collingwood Basketball. Basketball is a fast, high-energy sport with a loyal and passionate community. At GYG, we know what high performance looks like and we’re proud to be supporting the next generation of players.”
The announcement continues a period of significant partnership development for CBA, following recent agreements with Athlead as the Association’s apparel and merchandise partner, SA1NT Layers as its compression partner and the renewal of Jellis Craig’s support of junior domestic basketball.
McEachin said developing these relationships forms part of CBA’s broader strategic direction.
“One of our priorities is building a sustainable organisation that can invest back into basketball. Our growing group of partners gives us more opportunities to support our programs and provide value to our members.”
The GYG partnership will have a strong focus on engagement with players and families. Planned activities include Player of the Match programs, Team of the Round rewards, member offers, voucher programs and activations at CBA events.
The announcement also comes as preparations for the 2027 representative season move into their next phase, with VJBL trials beginning this weekend.
Hundreds of young players will take to the court seeking the opportunity to represent Collingwood in 2027.
“It is a fitting time to welcome GYG to the All Stars,” McEachin said.
“Our trials mark the beginning of a new season for the program. We’re looking forward to GYG being part of that journey with our players, coaches and families.”
