Welcome Darian Hyde to the CBA Team

The Collingwood Basketball Association is pleased to welcome Darian Hyde as our new Basketball & Competitions Manager.

Darian joins CBA at an exciting time for the association as it continues to grow participation, strengthen representative pathways and invest in organisational capability. Bringing experience across community basketball, competitions, representative programs and stakeholder engagement, Darian will play a key role in supporting the delivery of high quality basketball experiences and driving the objectives of CBA’s ‘All Stars, One Community’ Strategic Plan.

In his new role, Darian will lead the delivery of CBA’s basketball operations. He will work closely with players, coaches, officials, volunteers, staff and stakeholders to strengthen participation opportunities, enhance competition and program delivery, improve operational systems and processes, and support the continued growth of basketball across the association. A key focus of the role will be identifying opportunities to streamline operations, strengthen digital systems and build a scalable basketball delivery model that supports the association’s future growth.

Reflecting on his appointment, Darian said he was looking forward to building relationships across the association and helping shape the future of basketball at CBA.

“I am excited to get started as your new Basketball & Competitions Manager for the Collingwood Basketball Association.

Collingwood has a proud history, a passionate community, and enormous upside, and I am genuinely looking forward to working alongside the board, staff, coaches, players, volunteers and wider basketball community to help build on that foundation.

Together, I want to create an environment that supports participation, development and excellence at every level of the game.

I look forward to connecting with the community, building strong relationships, and helping take Collingwood to places I know it is capable of reaching. We are only getting started.”

CBA General Manager Shaun McEachin said the appointment represented an important investment in the association’s basketball operations and future growth.

“Darian’s appointment is an important step as we continue to strengthen the capability and capacity of our organisation.

His experience across community basketball, representative pathways, competitions and program delivery aligns strongly with the direction of our ‘All Stars, One Community’ Strategic Plan.

As participation continues to grow, it is essential that we invest in people who can support high quality experiences for our players, coaches, officials, volunteers and members. Darian brings strong operational experience, a genuine passion for community basketball and a commitment to continuous improvement. He will play an important role in strengthening our systems, processes and service delivery as we continue to build a sustainable and scalable organisation.

This appointment reinforces our focus on building sustainable basketball programs, strengthening development pathways and ensuring CBA remains a welcoming and professionally managed organisation for our entire community.

We are excited to welcome Darian to the team and look forward to the positive contribution he will make across all areas of the association.”

The appointment is one of several recent additions to the CBA team as the association continues to strengthen its organisational capability and position itself to deliver on the ambitions of the 2026 to 2029 Strategic Plan.

Through the ‘All Stars, One Community’ vision, CBA is focused on growing participation, strengthening development pathways, building sustainable operations and creating welcoming environments where all members of the community can connect, belong and thrive through basketball.

Darian will commence in the role from Monday 20 July.
